artisian vinegar production Acidity Determination by Titration

Titration

Determination of Acidity

To determine the acidity of vinegar, the acetic acid is neutralized with a sodium hydroxide solution. The used amount of the solution (difference between buret start and end value) is equivalent to the acidity.

Volume of the titrated vinegar sample:
ml

Buret start value:
ml

Buret end value:
ml

Concentration of sodium hydroxide:
N (mol/l)

Result
Volume of the titrated vinegar sample: 10 ml
Concentration of sodium hydroxide: 1 N (mol/l)
Used sodium hydroxide solution: 7.66 ml

The acidity of the vinegar is 4.6 %.
