damson mash: use the pits or not?

This year I have lots of damsons, I want to make a fruit mash for distilling fruit brandy. What's about the pits, should I use them or not? I've read different opinions about this.

Thanks for your answers!

Yes, use the pits, they're very important for distillate's taste. BUT do NOT destroy them! Prepare the mash without destroying the pits, leave them in the mash. When distilling put about 1/3 of the pits in the kettle.

great success!
